Britain’s gulag — pride in the Empire but no shame at all?

Thank you for starting this discussion. The whole seminar made me think so different of the English history and the still ongoing national pride nowadays. The older generation that voted pro Brexit is thinking of an English state as it was excistant 200 years ago when Britain was great and the times they ruled the world. Their history and military force was built on the pain and humiliation of thousands of innocent foreign people and it seems like nobody in Britain feels sorry for this history. Even worse is the fact that they feel national pride for something terrible as they grew up with it in their history books.
