2nd Grading Reflection(History)
Water Civilization
Irrigation is a requirement to build a civilization. The water civilization created dams to control the flow of water they called it hydraulic engineering. The Mayan Empire have their system of writing that describe their religion, their rulers, their holy lords and religious leaders. The Tikal was entirely lacked of natural supply of water; no springs, rivers, or lakes in its immediate vicinity, so to supply water to estimated 60,000 who live in there they created reservoirs. In Edzna they have a reservoir that can catch the rain water. In Palenque, Mexico they created aqueducts, dams, drains, and bridges to control the flooding. The Mayan was having fascination with aquatic iconography.
Mansa Musa
Here talks about the “greatest and mightiest civilization ruler — Mansa Musa” Mansa Musa was a legendary story from Africa. In the African civilization, they have an oral tradition that you should memorize it first before the write it. The Africans are the ones who spread the Islam to the whole world. Mansa Musa was a King in Africa. The African Kingdom was ruled before by wealthy African Kings and people that live in there were poor. The Nok culture was the first village based culture that was established on the West Africa. Narrators in the ancient societies are called Griots.
Persian And Greeks
King Cyrus the Great conquered the Mesopotamia and the Babylonian exile. Herodotus was the one who wrote about the history of Greeks and Persians, the fact that he is a historical bias,“For the winners of war are the writers of History”. In Persians and Greeks, they’re resources and power were so powerful, this is one of the factor that can determine that this is a civilization or an empire. Aristophanes is called the “Father of Comedy”. Not all the stories written in our book are specifically true about the past events because not everyone knows the true events that happen in the past. Their religion is zoroastrianism. Before, all things from that came from the west are the best.
Christianity
When I watched John Green’s video about Christianity it about that the Jewish people believe that Jesus Christ is The Messiah. In Christ time, when he does miracles all people recognize him as the Messiah except for the Romans. The Romans continue to make things bad for the Jews but also the Romans are the ones who spread God’s word in the whole world. Emperor Contantine is the one who spread Christianity in the world.
Holy Roman Empire
In the Holy Roman Empire video of John Green made me realize that the ones who have authority can be ruin because of its illegal actions. Everyone/ everything that falls under their authority will be ruin. Charles V and his whole family ruled negatively so here happens the separation of the State and the Church.
Vikings
Viking are Germanic conquerors from Scandinavia. They are known as Northman. The praise they’re “Warlike gods”. They are radical at their missions, that’s why they always win at their wars. Vikings trade their goods for another exchange of thing. They also search islands to sell to other people.
