In an effort to promote the pediatric surgery specialty, the APSA, the largest professional organization dedicated to the field, offers numerous training programs and educational opportunities, including the APSA ExPERT (Exam-Based Pediatric Surgery Educational Reference Tool) program. This program serves as a platform for continuing medical education (CME) and provides professionals with the chance to earn maintenance of certification (MOC) CME credits and seek information about pediatric care.

The platform is optimized to operate on a smartphone, computer, or tablet to ensure professionals can access new information anywhere. Created to specifically address professionals’ MOC needs, the ExPERT program assists pediatric surgeons with advancing their knowledge of patient care by presenting them with the most up-to-date medical literature on the subject.

Individuals who want to access ExPERT must subscribe to the platform each year. These subscriptions vary in cost depending on an individual’s APSA membership status and can be bundled with subscriptions to APSA’s Pediatric Surgery NaT resource.
