How much of this would a basic income fix?
I agree that there are serious problems with the way our world works right now — that market’s aren’t democrat, but it seems to me like that is the case primarily because not everyone gets a ‘vote’ in the market.
If everyone has a guaranteed basic income and can spend it on whatever they want, it seems to me that we still get the benefits of markets (price signals that function, and no state-mandated monopolies) without the drawbacks.
Am I wrong?
