We have some tools that will help you render specific portions of templates based on *isBrowser or *isServer that would come in handy for your situation!
Trilon package @trilon/ng-universal
Hope that helps! Apologies on the delay.
Hey Ben! It looks like it might of been an issue with a recent version of Browser Preview (https://github.com/auchenberg/vscode-browser-preview/issues/44).
Can you update your Browser Preview extension and give it another shot, it looks like it should be fixed now!
I need to add that back in there, but you can find a basic pre-render script here in our universal-starter: https://github.com/angular/universal-starter
Hope that helps get you going!
It seems that right as I wrote this an update went out for the CLI (that was just reverted last night) that broke most schematics :(
It should be fixed in the next minor release of the 6.2.x CLI, I’ll ping you as soon as it’s in there! Sorry about the bad timing & mixup! Dan Rullo
Did you replace [name] with your project name in the angular.json file?
— clientProject your-project-here ← make sure you put the project name there.
There is a small issue right now with the schematic that popped up in CLI v6.2, let me see if we’ve released a new version of the schematic so this is fixed!
Very nice, it looks like schematic just uses the node script that injects the rules, and still adds the postinstall hook to run it. I’ll make sure to add a note in the article that it can be done automatically now then :) Thanks for the heads up!
