Your claim that black physicists are somehow looked upon by whites as inferior is insulting. As a 67 year old white man I happen to think ALL people are capable of achieving anything they want.

A prime example is Dr Ben Carson. He started life living in poverty with a single mother who could not read and went on to become the head of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns-Hopkins Hospital. It was not easy, but it is not easy for anyone to achieve that.

You achieved great success in your life, too. I find it incredulous to think you would whine about lost opportunity. It seems to me you were given that opportunity and grabbed with gusto. Good for you. I salute your determination.

To end, let me say I happen to be a great fan of DeGrasse-Tyson. I watch him in TV every chance I get.
