Netflix Kids is already an exploding empire of kids entertainment which is constantly adding more content.

Netflix Inc. began to offer online video content services in 2008 and since then, it has grown into one of the biggest TV companies in the world. The time when the company made its debut in the industry, it had extensive and diversified content to keep it viewers busy all the time, but its mega content library was not perfectly tailored as it is now. Initially, Netflix was a DVD business but with its jump in the streaming business, it has become one of the powerhouses of the industry.

Last year, when the streaming giant announced its global expansion plans, it also announced that it would be heavily investing in its content domain in order to double its original programming. Netflix has nearly 75 million streaming subscribers from 190 countries and a good chunk of 75 million subscribers is kids. The company said that it will be producing content for kids in its new original programming plan and it already has a section dedicated to kids.

According to the Washington Post, the world’s largest private toy company, commonly known as MGA Entertainment, went live with its new TV show, which was only for kids. The story included a teen girl team who were super spies and in order to premier it, it planned to display an impressive premier on Netflix rather than Saturday morning TV. This actually stunned many people who did not expect it.

It was a big achievement for the MGA Entertainment but for the streaming service provider as well. The firm is already working on building its content empire for kids entertainment and it was more than happy to get hands on the newest kids show, Project MC2. Netflix welcomed the new show with open arms into its already extensive catalog of kids’ section.

The director of global kids content at Netflix, Andy Yeatman, stated “We have a ton of data on what they watch, so we know what properties resonate and when they don’t — when (viewers) have had enough of a franchise and when they can’t get enough of it. We always try to feed that demand so they always want more.”

Nearly half of the total customer base of the company regularly watches online movies and TV shows for kids and this opens possibilities for long-term profits. Netflix officials say that if the streaming platform is able to win the hearts of the young viewers at their age, then it can easily go on to win their loyalty for the rest of their lives.

It is known that Netflix will spend a massive amount of $5 billion on TV shows and movies in 2016, which is far more when compared to its peers and competitors in the market. Furthermore, its investment budget is also the half of what all American movies made at the box office in 2015.
