Things I Learned from Darren Hardy’s SUCCESS Revealed Workshop

I have just attended Darren Hardy’s SUCCESS Revealed workshop a while ago. It’s a webinar revealing the six tricks super-achievers use to multiply their results and dominate their markets. It is a great workshop that enlightens me and made me realize— what I need to do, what I lack on what I’m currently doing.

The workshop is a compilation of great insights from the six years of work of Darren Hardy studying successful people — super-achievers. As a way of paying it forward, I’ll be sharing my notes on the said workshop.

Here are the six things that are revealed in the workshop:

THINK BIG

As Donald Trump said, “If you’re going to do something, do it BIG.” We need to dream BIG dreams. The bigger the problems we solve, the bigger the rewards we will get.

“I dreamed big dreams. I dreamed the kind of dreams other people said would not be possible.” – Howard Schultz, CEO Starbucks. With bigger dreams and bigger goals, we can always be better. We can always do more.

My take on this, on whatever we do, our thinking will be our limits. The bigger we think, the bigger the results we will have. Rephrasing one of my favorite Jim Rohn quote, it’s not really what we have achieved but what we have become in achieving those dreams and goals. We better get ourselves out of mediocre thinking and start training ourselves to thinking BIG.

PEOPLE

We’re talking here of great people. Richard Branson said it this way, “A company consists of one thing — people. A company will only be as great as the people in it.” We cannot do it by ourselves, so we need to find the right people.

Maximize people’s strengths. Whatever you’re lacking, whatever your deficits are, you need to build a team arount it. It’s not only about you. No man is an island and you can’t make all by yourself.

HARD WORK

“Work your buns off. Push yourself. You are always great under pressure.” -Barbara Corcoran

We will never succeed if we don’t put the work. But it’s not ordinary work. It’s HARD (freaking) WORK. Talent, skills and knowledge will never be enough if not put to work.

Howard Schultz said, “Eradicate the human behavior of relaxing.” We need to put a great work ethic. Keep working until it is done and the results will surely be worth it.

FOCUS

“Find someone better than yourself. Learn to delegate early.” — Richard Branson

From here you can look and focus at the big picture. The smaller details will be done by the people you delegated who are better than you.

Being focused is hard nowadays. But it is not just focus that we need but as Will Smith said it, “It takes a desperate obsessive focus. You’ve really got to focus with all of your fiber, and all of your heart and all of your creativity.” Having this “insane” focus will surely help get more things done and will surely have a big pay off.

FAILURE

“See adversity as a challenge.” — Tony Hawk

A lot of people are afraid to fail. That’s why a lot of things also has not been done due to this fear. We need to keep moving forward. Fail some more. Fail forward. Celebrate failures as these teaches us. These will make us wiser. Stand up, learn and comeback, start again. Failures are part of the success journey.

We should not be afraid to take risks. Let’s keep challenging ourselves. Overcoming those challenge will make us better.

GROWTH

“I still feel I have room to improve. I’m never complacent with what I’ve achieved.” -Michael Jordan

For each one of us, there’s always a room for improvement. There’s always things that we can learn, skills we can master and experience we can acquire. The key is to get a little better everytime.

Be hungry for growth. Be commited to improve. Be obsessed in getting better.

As Jim Rohn said, the greatest gift you can give somebody is your own personal development. We cannot give what we do not have. We cannot take care of others if we cannot take care of ourselves first. The quest for growth in whatever aspect of our lives must be never ending.

Additional to the six secrets revealed above, here’s another great take away from the workshop.

The #1 threat to a productive future. Our greatest enemy in achieving the best version of who we are and what we are doing is “Distraction”. In order to avoid this to hamper our success, we need to master the most important skill in the 21st century. We need to learn to control our attention and have an insane-laser-like focus.

With this skill, we can get things done faster. We can do more. We can do better.

I’d like to end this article quoting the man who made the workshop possible, Darren Hardy. He said on the latter part of the program, “You will only get results if you take action.”

This message has resonated in me, that I came with the idea of creating this article. And now, it is not just an idea. It is already done. I’ve taken action. And this article that you are reading is the result of that action.

Thank you for staying up to this point. More to come soon.
