Trump gutting eldercare protections could help a facility named after Trump…
…is the story I’d write, if I were a journalist. But I’m not. I’m just a guy. But this feels like it’s a story: Told in tweets.
So, I follow Caroline O. She’s a “go to” feed for me not just because of the qualify of her information but because she’s a human being who interacts with other human beings on her timeline. Assuming you’re not a monster. And occasionally, even if, if it’s worth it.
So when I saw this:
I replied with this:
Just some fun banter, right? But the conversation continued. The reply:
My thought and reply was this: “At first, I thought they wanted us to die before we could collect social security. Now it seems just like abject cruelty. We’ll fix this.”
I’ve always felt the GOP game is to get us all to pay into Social Security and Medicare but have us all die before we can touch the money. Is it a little Alex Jones? Maybe. But I believe it. They want that cash. How do they get it? People die early. Caroline’s reply:
And then, here comes someone from the Twitterverse, doing a little digging and finding this.
That’s right. Trump Pavilion. An Eldercare community. That could benefit from “The Trump admin… (stripping) nursing home residents & their families of the right to sue over abuse, neglect &/or sexual assault.”
So, what started as a horrifying story, and continued as a comment, and continued to a snarky hypothetical…
…has some truth because:
Evening addendum /edits: People have pointed out that Trump doesn’t OWN the facility, it’s a Pavilion at Queens hospital named after his mother. So, that should also be mentioned.
We have to keep fighting this, folks. Every move the Trump regime makes is rooted in greed and cruelty.
The death of what America means and the death of kindness are happing concurrently.
P.S. Now with a possible Russian connection!
