Rather than a story, this is a simple explanation of how I intend to use my medium.com blog. So, first off, some context. I am a scientist who has worked at MIT for a while (https://marrocchelli.mit.edu/) and lately decided to leave the ivory tower, dive into the real world and become a data scientist. I might write a post about why I decided to leave the Academia but now is not the time.

This blog is intended to showcase my first steps into data science. In particular, I will post all my first data science projects here. This will be a learning experience for me, quite like when my kids started walking a few years ago. You start with a few wobbly steps and hopefully you become better and steadier with time… Or at least that is the plan!

Now, I am not sure what my readership will be. I mean, how many people are there out there waiting to read posts on data science by a newbie such as myself? I am afraid the answer might be: not many! Anyways, should anybody actually read my posts, I really welcome your feedback. I promise I will reply right away and engage as much as possible.

In the next few days I will start posting some of my stories. The first one will on how you can predict the sales of a bunch of stores, based on some information you hold about them. Next, I will post about which types of cuisines are most (and least!) popular in the US.
