Cameron unveils visa changes for Chinese visitors to boost the economy
During China’s President Xi Jinping latest state visit to the United Kingdom, Prime Minister David Cameron said he aims to strengthen UK-Chima and bring benefits to the UK economy by allowing more high spending Chinese visitors in the country.
From 2016 the government will introduce new visa regulations for Chinese visitors which will allow them to have a two year multiple-entry visa. This is due to the increasing wealth of China’s middle class and the government’s intention to build down the bureaucracies and costs that are constraining Chinese visitors from bringing benefits to the UK economy.
“It’s focusing on one of the real attractions that we have. The Chinese population like coming here for our culture, our heritage, our retail,” said a spokeswoman for Prime Minister David Cameron.
