Wall Street Journal — WSJDLive Global Startup Competition 2016

WSJDLive Global Startup Competition 2016 is going to be hosted by Wall Street Journal, offering seven finalists the opportunity to attend WSJDLive and present their independent startup companies to a panel of judges and an audience of Fortune 500 CEOs, entrepreneurs and investors from around the world. Judges will include Rupert Murdoch, Executive Chairman of News Corp and 21st Century Fox; will.i.am, Founder and CEO, i.am+; Mark Cuban, Owner Dallas Mavericks, Entrepreneur and Investor; Theresia Gouw, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Aspect Ventures. One entrepreneur, selected by audience vote, will be featured in the Journal’s special report.

At WSJDLive, leaders from both established and emerging tech companies will explore the most compelling tech opportunities evolving around the world. Through dynamic onstage interviews, intimate roundtables with experts on cutting-edge topics, and interactive events, WSJDLive Global Startup Competition 2016 participants will connect with peers in an environment of unparalleled discussion, debate and global discovery.

Submissions are accepted and open to any independent startup company launching a product or service between the dates of January 1, 2015 and May 31, 2016. The startup’s funds raised at the date of entry were limited to a maximum of $5 million. Preference will be given to undiscovered startups whose work has a clear global application.

Entries for the WSJDLive Global Startup Competition 2016 are open to startups from around the world, including entries from Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, France, Canada, Israel, Turkey, Germany, Cyprus, Jordan, India, Singapore, Bahamas, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Vietnam, South Africa, Chile, Ireland, Austria, Slovakia, Palestinian Territory, Luxembourg, Hong Kong and states across the United States. Last year 60% of the startups who entered the WSJDLive contest were from outside the U.S.
