How Certain Character Traits in Anime Can Shape a Child’s Personality

Exploring How Anime Characters Impact Toddlers’ Personality Growth

Toddlers learn from their surroundings, grab things easily and quickly, and adapt their behavior according to their environment. The more productive their environment is, the more they learn. The positive and negative aspects of people’s minds also come with their surroundings. It is also true that minds and brains are different; some pick up more negativity, which leads to them having a negative personality. Those who grasp positivity more than negativity end up being positive.

Children’s lives revolve around anime. The anime genre has been a popular form of entertainment for children all over the world. The vibrant and colorful characters of anime have always captured the imagination of children, and they have a significant impact on their personality and character building. The personality of the characters in anime reflects various traits like determination, courage, honesty, kindness, and much more. Children who watch anime often tend to get influenced by their favorite characters and try to emulate their qualities in their daily life.

In anime, there are a lot of characters. Among these are heroes, villains, and other characters who play side roles.

Each person in the world has different thoughts, feelings, personalities, and behavior. This allows two types of picking to reflect it.

Kids have their favorite characters from anime series. Their taste, interest, and personality determine what they like, and they want to be like them. You can call it their ideal.

On the other hand, children learn from their surroundings. Similarly, they learn from them and adapt themselves accordingly. Parents and educators can utilize this influence of anime to build the character of children positively. It is critical to understand that children who watch anime do not merely watch for entertainment but also absorb various values and morals from it.

Let’s take a look at some of the popular anime characters and the personality traits that they imbibe, which can help in the character-building of children.

  1. Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto): Naruto Uzumaki is a fictional character in the anime Naruto. Naruto is a courageous and determined character who never gives up on his goals. He is also very kind-hearted and empathetic toward others, which makes him a great leader. Children who watch Naruto can learn the importance of perseverance, kindness, and leadership.

Luffy is also very determined and never backs down from a challenge. Children who watch One Piece can learn the importance of having a positive attitude, being determined, and seeing the positive in people.

3. Gon Freecss (Hunter x Hunter): Gon Freecss is a fictional character in the anime Hunter x Hunter. He is a very curious and adventurous character who loves to explore new things. Gon is also very empathetic and always tries to understand the feelings of others. Children who watch Hunter x Hunter can learn the importance of being curious, empathetic, and adventurous.

4. Goku (Dragon Ball Z): Goku is a fictional character in the anime Dragon Ball Z. He is a very determined character who always strives to become stronger. Goku is also very kind-hearted and always tries to help others. Children who watch Dragon Ball Z can learn the importance of determination, kindness, and self-improvement.

In comparison, Dragon Ball Z was the most famous anime of our time.

The leading role was Goku as discussed above. Children who like Goku can learn the importance of determination, kindness, and self-improvement.

In contrast, Vegeta was the second protagonist. Let’s have a look at his personality.

Vegeta’s character is complex and multi-dimensional, with both positive and negative traits. As such, the influence that he may have on children who watch Dragon Ball Z and admire him will depend on how they interpret his actions and values.

In contrast, Vegeta’s determination, work ethic, and desire for self-improvement can be viewed as admirable traits. Vegeta’s perseverance and never-give-up attitude can inspire kids to work hard and strive for their goals, while his willingness to protect his loved ones and fight for what he believes in can teach children the importance of loyalty and standing up for oneself.

On the other hand, Vegeta’s arrogance, pride, and violent tendencies may not be the most suitable examples for children to follow. Children may be at risk of emulating more negative qualities, such as his tendency to prioritize his own goals over the needs of others. This includes his aggression towards opponents, and his tendency to belittle or insult others.

Now have a look at one of my time's favorite anime, Inazuma Eleven. Among the characters was Axal Blaze.

Axal Blaze from anime Inazuma Eleven

Firstly, his leadership style, whether it’s authoritative or collaborative, can teach kids about the importance of effective leadership and teamwork. They can learn that everyone has their own style of leadership. However, the most successful leaders are those who can inspire and motivate their teammates to work towards a common goal.

Secondly, Axal Blaze’s motivation for playing soccer, whether it’s to win, improve, seek recognition, or enjoy the game, can teach kids about the various reasons why people might participate in sports or other activities. This can help kids understand that there are many different motivations for why people do what they do and that having different goals and aspirations is okay.

Finally, Axal Blaze’s reaction to failure or defeat can teach kids about resilience and the importance of learning from mistakes. They can learn that setbacks are a normal part of life. However, what’s critical is how we respond to them and use them as opportunities for growth and improvement.

Overall, Axal Blaze’s character can serve as a positive role model for kids, teaching them critical values like teamwork, leadership, resilience, and learning from mistakes.

Now pounder over your personality, characteristics, mindset, and who’s your ideal.
