Why do we keep making the same mistakes over and over again?

*We don’t recognize the signs, clues, and symbols life presents us to help avoid and get past their problems.

*We look at tests and challenges from a LOGICAL perspective, rather than a SPIRITUAL perspective.

How can we learn from life’s challenges, tests, and hardships?

The Law of Change: History repeats itself until we learn the lessons that we need to change our path.

Sometimes in life we can find ourselves repeating the same mistakes over and over again, causing us to feel defeated. By focusing on learning from experience and prevention you can become more resilient to keep on moving.

Looking at problems, tests, and challenges from the spiritual perspective can help you understand how they arise, as well as how to overcome them.

Questions to Ask yourself…

How did I respond?

What did I learn about myself, others, and life?

What actions do I need to take to pass this test next time?

What type of person do I need to become in order to pass this test?

What’s character traits do I need to practice to overcome this lesson?

2. Expect the unexpected

Expect life to test you, and give you lessons to learn from. By practicing mindfulness and awareness you can anticipate what’s to come. Universal tests and lessons are designed to strengthen your character and light within, they are a blessing in disguise.

Law of Cause and Effect — Nothing happens by chance or outside the Universal Laws. Every Action (including thought) has a reaction or consequence.

3. Connect to your higher self

Problem: most people have their lower selves making decisions for them that are self-sabotaging.

A strong connection to your higher self can give you guidance with how to respond to situations. Your higher self knows the proper path, and which decisions you need to make in the moment. It’s simply a matter of recognizing the warning signs. Your higher self has the spiritual strength and willpower to overcome any hardship. Your higher self gives you guidance, strength, and faith. Establish, build, and maintain a connection to your inner voice.

Break down the test(s) in order to find the symbolism.

Use the 5W’s to analyze the context and lesson to be learned.

1. WHO was affected?

2. WHAT happened? What is the issue?

3. WHEN did ______ happen? When does this issue occur?

4. WHERE did ___________occur? What was the location of the event?

5. WHY did this happen? (Is there a repeated pattern?)

6. Detach from the situation

Become the objective observer of your life. Imagine you were watching a movie where you were the character.

How would that character get themselves out of that situation?

9. Visualize the preferred behavior

Visualize the way the situation would’ve worked out if everything had gone well.

10. Identify pain points

11. Focus on personal growth

Law of Growth:

*When we change who and what we are within our hearts, our lives follow suit and change too.

12. Concentrate on what you want to happen

Focus on what you DO WANT in life, using your mental muscles.

Law of Polarity: Everything is on a continuum and has and opposite. We can suppress and transform undesirable thoughts by concentrating on the opposite pole. It is the law of mental vibrations.

13. Practice affirmations

Create your own custom affirmations for the person you want to become, and the life you want live. Hang affirmations up around your living space so you can see them often. Repeat them aloud and write them down daily.

14. Practice empathy to gain understanding

“Empathy” (n): the ability to understand and share the feelings of another.

Place yourself inside your own (*see #7 Detachment) and/or another person’s perspective. Try to understand why you or they responded the way they did.
