2015 and a glimpse into the future

2015 had some pretty nice sunsets

2015 had some pretty dramatic ups and downs for me.

From the get go it was an odd year and I’m having a hard time figuring out how I feel it went, alas here’s a list of my year.

  • I helped make nine films
  • I helped make four films I was proud of
  • I acquired six cameras, both old and new
  • I shot 26 rolls of film
  • I developed nine rolls of film
  • I had my first ‘quiet’ New Years
  • I read (roughly) twenty-six books
  • I went on five dates
  • I went on four dates that went well
  • I watched two of my now favourite films (Whiplash, The Theory of Everything)
  • I became a (sort of) bartender
  • I went to the movies on my own for the first time
  • I reached a year of doing voluntary work at Sue Ryder
  • I used a big boy Steadicam for the first time
  • I stopped drinking
  • I figured out why I think I want to make films
  • I fell in love once
  • I had my heart broken twice
  • I wrote in my one line a day diary three-hundred and sixteen times
  • I learnt from a few of the mistakes I made last year

I started this thinking I had a rough year, but looking back it wasn’t all that bad, it wasn’t all that great either, but that doesn’t matter.

2016 in review

2016 had some pretty dramatic ups and downs

  • I started to make the first of my 100 documentaries series
  • I am living and working in Australia
  • I handed in a badass dissertation and got a first
  • I helped make the film I’m most proud of in Jailbird, even though the amount of stress was indescribable
  • I spent New Years on my own for the first time (with my dog though)
  • I fell in love once
  • I became a proper bartender
  • I went on so many little adventures
  • I wrote a Medium post every month
  • I am making films that make people happy
  • I wrote in my one line a day diary three-hundred and sixty-six times (leap year)
  • I was confident in myself
  • I went on one date that went very well
  • I read fifty books
  • I was happy almost every day
  • I learnt from a few of the mistakes I made last year

I had a pretty nice 2016.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?
