We Need To Show Progress Or We’re Doomed.
Mankind is on the brink of a new civilisation but it all could be lost to pessimists if we can’t show them progress.
Introduction
Optimists know deep down that all life is of pattern and sequence. For example optimistic scientists believe that similar rules apply here as they do throughout space and time: Hydrogen, Gravity, Friction, Magnetism, Temperatures, Electrons, Time itself, Carbons, Universes, Atoms, Stars and Radiation Energy.
Optimists therefore are our civilisations opportunity to bet for a for a better future pattern, however it is continually becoming apparent the danger optimists face without progress. It is in this danger of demonstrating progress that we focus on.
Our Futures
Like no other generation, ours has the chance to build things as nature does, from the bottom up. No blueprints or predetermined beliefs. Just an avalanche of invention in a time where huge population demand puts us on the brink of dangerous consequence.
We are currently undergoing a dangerous [but vital] transition in mankind whereby we are moving from a Type 0 civilisation (burner of dead plants) to a Type 1 civilization (Consumer of silver sunlights). At the same time during this transition pessimists are continually fighting age old debates that no longer have the same noble cause to our planet or mankind.
It is for environmental and mankind reasons that all optimists must look to promote good progress ever deeper around us. If we can demonstrate that the future is already here, albeit unevenly then we can show early benefits to pessimists who can’t see progress.
Bioinformatics, Nano applications, Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Telecommunication efficiencies, Solar energy, Magnetism and Fusion; These all help enormously toward this Type 1 leap to a Planetary civilisation that units for our environment, planet and mankind.
Planetary Unity
One persist struggle of a transition to Type 1 Civilisation is a global cohesion. All of us in the world have to at some point accept the true character of our combined future [beyond the near future itself] and beyond all the cultures we all currently identify with, country to country.
On this earth we will pass 9 billion residents and at the same time pass greater environmental concerns that every country is now facing.
For a Type 1 civilisation to exist we must all determine what nature truely is, be it through scientific support or study. We must also learn from world wars and determine all what shall not be strived for and what noble cause we all need to defend.
The Noble Cause
Striving against causes not noble to our planets future isn’t enough. Optimists must show progress to all the world to bring mankind out of its shell.
There are futures even beyond the future we glimpse, Type 2 or Type 3 (To consume all the suns energy or consume all star energies) civilisations are possible but just one at a time.
If we can prioritise global cohesion then we are putting the planet first. If we are putting oppression, theocracy and savagery to bed then we are improving optimism.
We can all share this earth more nobly and go beyond what our ancient cultures tell us to go beyond. True wisdom has to be sought though and this requires improved demonstrations of progress.
