Introducing Mathpix, a new-age digital calculator
In the past 10 years, almost all our technology products have changed. We upgraded from flip phones to smartphones. We traded in CDs for streaming music. Our laptops got faster, lighter, and more efficient. And mobile apps became an integral part of our lives.
One thing that hasn’t changed in the last decade, however, is our digital calculator.
Besides making minor design tweaks and changing storage capacity, calculators from Texas Instruments and other producers behave largely the same as the ones our parents and older siblings used. They’re also as expensive as they have always been.
We don’t understand why that is. What we’re learning in school, how we are communicating with each other, and the careers we are preparing for are dramatically different than all the generations before us.
We, at Mathpix, have been thinking about this problem for a while, trying to figure out what solution can best meet our changing needs in math class. After months of development, we’re excited to introduce you to the new-age digital calculator: our Mathpix app.
Once you take a picture of any handwritten (yes, you read that right!) math problem you are working on, the Mathpix app let’s you graph, solve, or share the equation.
So as you head back into math class this fall, drop the TI-84 calculator and download the Mathpix app, a solution finally created for our learning needs.
