Some artworks by the following artists categorized as paintings were excluded, leading to their descent within, or otherwise complete omission from, this comic:

• On Karawa, whose work I Got Up… are not paintings, but a series of 28 prints showcased inside a single frame
• Richard Pettibone, whose portfolio comprises two copies of Andy Warhol’s work and ten copies of Frank Stella’s
• Frank Stella, whose twelve Maquettes are metal alloy sculptures
• Ben Vautier, whose Plaques I understand are porcelain, and, in any case, could not be found on MoMA’s website
