At New Story one of our core values is ‘Improve Through Learning.’ This manifests in many ways but I wanted to share one specific example in this post.

Each Wednesday and Friday all of our team members receive a question about our work, culture, team or anything related to New Story.

The questions are sent via Know Your Company, a fantastic tool for this exact purpose.

Take this question above. This question may come up during lunch or a random work session but it’s unlikely. Even if it did most team members would have to think on their feet and give an answer that’s not fully thought through.

So by allowing these thought provoking questions to be asked allows for interesting and actionable learnings to bubble up.

The question of Friday is a social question that allows for team members to share personal stories, interesting facts, and other culture related things.

All in all it allows you to get closer to your team and really understand the various aspects of your company and team. This is just another example of how you must put a deliberate focus on team culture.
