“I Don’t Have Time To Think”

“I don’t have time to think.”

-thing that some people say

I don’t have time to exercise.

I dont’ have time to read.

What do I have time for? Mindlessly thumbing through Facebook for the fourth time today? Watching the Super Bowl, which probably contains 2 full hours of commercials? Standing and gossiping around the “water cooler”? (Or, by text message…)

We have time for the things we make time for. We have the exact same amount of time in each day. Life is an uninterrupted stream of consciousness, from birth, until death. Nobody should say they “don’t have to think.” We are human, we are born to think.

Yes, modern life is chopped up into little bits. Email rolls in, 24/7. The Twitterverse doesn’t stop. But we can stop. Don’t have time? Make time. Chop out something unessential. Let your email go unanswered for a few hours. Pick up that book that’s sitting by your bed. Get the gym clothes out.

Time won’t wait.
