The Gendered Implications of the Word “Manipulative”
Kitty Stryker

This is the very kind of attitude that makes it such a struggle to take feminism seriously, this uncanny attitude of extrapolating so quickly from personal experiences. You just dated a man who didn’t connect to you, and didn’t take you seriously, nothing about “toxic masculinity” and “society’s expectations of women.” You’d have an easier time understanding why it was easy for him to treat you like this, despite being “queer” and a feminist — I assume — if you understood that there is more to human behavior than shallow labels we so quickly assign to it.
