The NAUI offers a number of scuba diving certification courses.

Entry-level courses focus on introducing fundamental knowledge and skills, including safety procedures for diving in open water. Participants learn about modern dive equipment and responsible diving practices. Teachers will provide basic instruction within a confined water environment, where participants can practice skills and emergency response before embarking on open-water training dives. Certified NAUI instructors accompany participants during these dives in order to deliver further guidance and ensure the safety of participants.

In order to achieve experienced-diver certification, candidates must engage in at least 25 open-water dives and complete an NAUI Experienced Scuba Diver course designed for skilled scuba divers. Individuals who become certified as experienced divers are eligible to continue their training by enrolling in programs such as Advanced Scuba Diver, First Aid, Rescue Scuba Diver, or Enriched Air Nitrox Diver courses.
