The Rosso Conero production zone covers a small area on the slopes of the Conero promontory, south-west of Ancona (the capital city of Le Marche). Its vineyards sit on heavy mineral soils of chalky limestone and clay that provide an ideal terroir for the cultivation of vines. This rosso must be made from at least 85% Montepulciano, with the possible addition of up to 15% Sangiovese and other varieties to increase the acidity. When it has been matured for longer than two years and has a minimum alcohol level of 12.5%, then it can be labelled “Rosso Conero Riserva”.

Rosso Conero has a ruby red color, dry flavour pleasing to the taste, rich fruity nose, firm tannins. With its remarkable Mediterranean temperament, it is well-suited for roast meats, game stews and all robust dishes.
