“National Museum of the Philippines Experience”

Appreciating art in National Museum was such a nice experience for me as a student. It was boring at first but I slowly realize its essence when I started acknowledging the artworks that we studied in AESTHET. I saw a lot of Guillermo Tolentino’s work, and I can say that he is truly amazing because of his art in field of sculpture. Maybe he has the most number of sculptures in Museum because every time I recognize beautiful sculpture, I see his name as the artist.

Aside of familiarizing myself to the artworks we discussed, I was able to find my kind of art. When I came-up with my eight best artworks, I realized that I have much appreciation in abstract paintings and paintings where the subject is an object rather than human or animal. But I had a difficulty in understanding the meaning of the artworks because it’s not so obvious. I just thought that those artworks are really beautiful and strategic in a way that the message is challenging to convey.

This experience is a way for me to see how gorgeous an art is. It serves as an inspiration for me to atleast give myself a chance to do some artworks and see if I can make art. I’m looking forward to having much experience in such things.
