I feel this. My mom was always a SAHM, which was great for me and my brother when we were kids, but she has very little understanding of the reality of having to, you know, go to work every day. Once, I mentioned having a can of soup for dinner, and she couldn’t believe that I would eat “that crap” out of can instead of making it from scratch. Maybe because I’ve been at work for the past 9 hours and I just want something warm in my belly? Lately, she’s been kvetching about my 62-year old dad wanting to lay on the couch and read a book after work (“being lazy”)instead of going for an evening hike. Take it down a notch or two, Mom.
