Why You Should Care About the Redbox Acquisition
Brit McGinnis

If you live in an area that’s under-served by high-speed internet, you care when your physical media options are limited (I have personally never used Redbox, but know people who do). Even more frustrating is when the issue can at least partly be attributed to a company misusing millions in funds meant to expand access.

And before anyone says “it’s your fault for choosing to live in an under-served area”, keep in mind that’s the same argument we hate to hear in response to complaints that rent in the Bay area and NYC are too high. Also, if you want those locally-sourced mushrooms and that humanely-raised pork, it means someone has to live in the boonies.
