My Name is Rory McGeown and I’m an aspiring teacher from Western Sydney. Going through High School I never had any aspirations of further study, which I hope gives you an idea of the journey I’ve undertaken since finishing in 2013.
My first semester of university has been the most stressful period of my life, but not near as stressful as enrolling. I’ve always been afraid of failure and let that emotion control me, but completing my first semester of University shows I am capable of much more than I think.
A lot of my courage comes from my mother and sister, who constantly inspire me and without them I wouldn’t of undertaken this journey. I’m excited to see what the future holds.
Working as an SLSO at Crawford Public School gave me an insight into the abilty teachers have to make a difference and that is why I want to become a teacher, so I can inspire kids.
