[ANN] MediBloc in Korea partners with Kyobo Lifeplanet Insurance Company

On September 6, MediBloc in Korea signed a strategic partnership agreement with Kyobo Lifeplanet Insurance Company, a subsidiary of Kyobo Life Insurance Co., Ltd. that offers online life insurance services, to create blockchain-based insurance products and develop insurance claims processing system.

MediBloc in Korea and Lifeplanet signed the partnership agreement to build best practices for blockchain-based insurance products through the sharing of the medical data network and blockchain technology between the two companies. The two leading companies in their respective fields will be cooperating to build best practices in the insurance market.

At the partnership agreement ceremony, MediBloc in Korea and Lifeplanet discussed plans to execute marketing campaigns through healthcare data network, build a PHR platform to utilize healthcare data, develop and research insurance products, and build a blockchain-based claims processing system.

Dr. Allen Kho, CEO and co-founder of MediBloc in Korea, said “Lifeplanet has deep understanding and interests in the blockchain technology. As the two companies already have established business scope and capabilities on a global level, the sharing of technologies and network between us will create synergy effects and enhance our competitiveness. We will create best practices for the healthcare ecosystem with Lifeplanet, and expect to see significant growth in our businesses.”

MediBloc team is building a blockchain-based healthcare platform that is truly patient-centric. The team has signed multiple partnership agreements with various medical institutions, both domestic and abroad, and has been recently selected as the sole provider of blockchain technology for two government-funded projects. In August, the team announced its development of prescription-sharing rewarding app ‘YOL.’

Lifeplanet, established in 2013, is the only online life insurance company in Korea and offers all services directly to customers. The company was the first in the insurance market to provide its services through a mobile app and has been praised by customers for its convenience. Lifeplanet has been recognized of uniqueness and practicality its products and received a total of five exclusive licenses.
