MCP | Snapchat Hacks
5…. 4…. 3…. 2… 1….self destruct! No, I’m not talking about James Bond, I’m talking about chat….Snapchat. Let’s get to know this popular mobile messaging app even better. Here are my favorite Snapchat hacks all in one place, so that you can make the most out of this app’s not-so-obvious features.
- Write multiple lines of text.
Select your memo or notepad on your mobile device. Press the ‘Enter’ button a few times and copy. Once copied, take a Snap, tap on the photo and hold to paste. Now you are able to add paragraphs of text to your Snaps.
When you’re using the camera to take a selfie, just press and hold on your face to activate the lenses. Follow any action prompts that appear, like ‘Raise Your Eyebrows.’ You can tap the capture button to take a Snap, or press and hold on the capture button to record a video (heads up–these can get pretty crazy.)
You can use Snapchat’s video lenses to slow down, speed up, or rewind your videos. Record your video by holding down the action button. Then swipe to the right or left to preview the three different effects on your Snapvideo.
- Change the Color of Bolded Text
You can change the color of your bolded text by typing your caption, pressing the “T” icon, and then selecting a color from the palette on the upper right-hand side of the screen.
- Add a friend with Snapcode.
Snapcodes allow you to add a friend on Snapchat by simply pointing your camera at their personal QR code. You can also download and customize your Snapcode here: https://accounts.snapchat.com/accounts/login.
You can replay a friend’s Snap once per day. To re-view a Snap, tap and hold the Snap until it returns, then tap again to view. The person whose Snap you’re viewing will be notified that you replayed it.
Did you know you could save data by enabling Travel Mode? Inside the “Manage” section, you can turn on this feature to reduce Snapchat’s mobile data usage.
Take a screenshot without your friend getting a notification. Turn on your phone’s airplane mode setting. Take your screenshot and immediately log out of the app. Then, turn off airplane mode and log back into Snapchat. You just took a secret screenshot!
