This past Friday, it was announced through a post on Lil Peep’s Instagram that his second posthumous album, “Everybody’s Everything” will arrive on Nov. 15, two years after his death. Peep passed away on Nov. 15, 2017, after overdosing while on his tour bus. Along with the album, a documentary of the same name is set to premiere in select theaters on Nov. 12 and be released nationwide on Nov. 15. Peep’s record label, Columbia Records, said the new release will be a “lovingly-curated collection of songs from Lil Peep’s career, including fan favorites that have never been available on platforms, and songs that have never been released in any form.”

The release of his new LP comes a little over a year after his last, “Come Over When You’re Sober Pt. 2” which was also released under Columbia Records, which purchased his entire unreleased discography back in April of last year. Many fans and music lovers have recently sparked the debate that is after an artist dies, should their music be released? There are two sides to this, the side of the label, who has invested money in this artist before their passing, so they need something out of it. And then there is the side of the listener, who might be able to realize when a project is not in its intended form and simply sounds like it is incomplete. Posthumous releases have become somewhat of a trend in recent years, like with late Florida rapper XXXTentacion, whose label is set to release his fourth posthumous release in a little over a year. So, it begs the question, are the people involved only in it for the money or for the legacy that the artist will leave behind? You can view the tracklist for Peep’s new album below.
