You May Have Seen My Face on BART
Isis Anchalee

As a female engineer THANK YOU ISIS. This is the best possible response you could have given. I too get tired of being ‘the female engineer’ as an archetype. It does get old to be confused for the bookkeeper or bosses wife/daughter, but I have also realized that these judgments, while sexist, are often not consciously malicious (I’ve even been guilty of making them myself when dealing with other women in my industry, lesson learned!). Your point about us being individual people rather than symbols of our gender is really spot on and the thoughtful way that you delivered it was great. Bravo.

A single golf clap? Or a long standing ovation?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
