Why Do You Read?

I Read Because… the mundane world does not engage me. I want to be swept away to worlds never seen by human eyes. I want to experience the full range of human emotion; the good, the bad and the ugly, all while curled under my favourite blanket on the couch. I want to escape. I want to relax. I want to find myself in the page.

Reading has long been a part of my life. I was the kid who took books with me to the playground at school. Books got me through the bad times and inspired me to be more than I thought I could be. Eventually, reading inspired me to tell my own stories and I hope, someday, to tell the same kind of stories that have carried me through life’s roughest moments.

A single golf clap? Or a long standing ovation?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
