How to Avoid Boredom and Get Inspired Again

If you’re in the U.S., I hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving! I took the day off yesterday, knowing that many of you would be cooking and busy with family anyway.

You may or may not know that I love to paint. I started out with watercolor (which I absolutely love) and then moved to pencil drawing and charcoal. I’ll admit, I’ve been in a rut with my artwork lately. So yesterday, I switched it up and tinkered around with acrylic paints, which I had just sitting around. I loved using them because it challenged me, since watercolor paint and acrylics work so differently.

I just needed to change it up to get my inspiration back.

So I challenge you to do something different in your work, art or hobbies this week to keep the inspiration flowing! Break out a new recipe to cook, try a new craft or test a new process. It doesn’t have to be a crazy, big change — just something simple to break the norm.

Here’s to getting out of your rut,
