Good friends remind you of who you were before things got bad.
They bring out the best version of you and help you laugh it off.
They remind you that you still matter — and help reset you.
When things come to an end, you are mourning all of the possibilities and dreams that have ended as well.
You focus on the once-was.
“Do you have everything?,” a friend will ask as I spend an inordinate amount of time looking through my purse.
An innocent question that sometimes disrupts my OCD ritual. And then I have to do it again.
