Today

I was inspired to write this piece because of the song “Today” sung by Brad Paisley and fitting that its Thanksgiving Day in Canada so I thought I would share it. So often I have rushed from moment to moment, activity to activity, month to month, year to year never really slowing down to take in today. How often do we focus so intently on the future and whats ahead and forget that all we are promised is today.

I think its common to get caught up in the future and what will happen or the past and what went wrong and not live for today. It does not mean we are doing it wrong, it just means we may be missing some important messages or moments which indicates we need to slow down. I feel very lucky to have two beautiful children and grateful that I am getting to raise them everyday. I lost my mom when I was 11 years old and there is not a “today”, a yesterday or a tomorrow that I don’t wish she was here! So living for today is very important to me and my role as mom.

Life is not always easy and living for today is hard, but we should be happy we have today because many people don’t get today let alone tomorrow. So whether things are shitty for you right now, or going your way, just remember it can all change in a blink. So enjoy today, we don’t know about tomorrow, or the next but we do know that today is here and its a gift we should be grateful for.

I have many people and things that I am thankful for, and whether its Thanksgiving Day or any of the other 364 days of year I am grateful for yesterday and what it taught me, excited for what tomorrow could bring, and living for “Today”.

“Bring on tomorrow, I’ve got “today”

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Love n Hugs
