Be A Winner!

You were born a winner, and I am going to tell you how I know. You have survived millions of years of evolution, and survived the longest and most stressful race you have ever participated in your entire life…the race to fertilization. Yep, you are the sperm cell that made it to the finish line and that makes you a natural at winning.

Now, just because you were BORN a winner doesn´t mean things are always going to come easy for you or you are always going to be in a winning mood. NEVER! You´ve got the trait but you have to work hard to make everyday what I like to call “a winning experience”.

It´s time to change your attitude. It all starts with a mind shift, an attitude makeover! Your attitude has more influence over your behavior and your actions than you think. Your attitude can be defined as the demeanor with which you evaluate life in general; and because attitudes are learned, they easily become habits making it easy to be predisposed to looking at life the same way each time. Therefore, if your attitude towards your job, school, health, relationships, or just your life has been a negative one, it´s time for a change.

It´s impossible to bring out the winner in you with a pessimistic attitude, you can´t tackle life discouraged. You have got to make it a “habit” to rise every morning and face life with enthusiasm and confidence!

Remind yourself that you are a winner. Get the words: “You´ve got this” or “You can do it” tattooed somewhere in your body where you can easily see it every time you are in a giving up mood. Print out motivational quotes and hang them all over your bedroom wall or in your office that will inspire you to be all that you know you can be. Label that alarm you use on your phone “Keep Calm And Be A Winner” and set a fun and happy tone to it, so that each morning it is the first thing you see and hear. Trust me, it will put you in a winning mood even before your first cup of coffee!

Expect to WIN. This doesn´t mean you have to be “annoyingly optimistic” every time life throws rocks at you. No! Life can be HARD and DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND sometimes that´s just the way the universe works. Therefore, if it hurts EMBRACE the PAIN, If you need to cry, CRY A RIVER, if you´ve got to throw a little temper tantrum, DO IT! It´s healthy! But – yes, there´s a BUT, it doesn´t mean you´re going to stay there either. In other words, take the beating but get up before the referee stops counting to let the world know you´ve been knocked out.

When you expect to win, you know and it´s clear to you that every problem has a solution to it, that there´s a victory to every battle, & that every storm comes with its own rainbow.

Prepare to WIN. You can´t EXPECT to win if you´re not PREPARED to win. It takes more than a “winning” mind set. In fact, a positive mind set and a confident attitude are just 50% of winning. You´ve got to WORK HARD! Winning is not for lazy bums, it´s for people who know that achieving their goals and dreams is not easy and doesn´t come cheap; there isa high price to pay. Victory takes planning; it takes guts to recognize what your weaknesses are and strive to fix them. Winning is about being effective and eliminating distractions and committing to your dreams wholeheartedly, with PASSION.

Find someone you look up to and learn everything about them. What obstacles did they face to get where they are and how did they surpass them? What is a day in their life like? How do they start their day, at what time do they wake up? How many hours of sleep do they get?

Once you practically know that person´s BIO by heart IMITATE THEM. You will soon realize what it really takes to be a winner, what it takes to be the very best at what you do.

And last but not least, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. Make this your #1 priority. You can´t possibly think about doing any of the above if you don´t believe in who you are. Therefore, start by studying yourself. Who are you? What abilities do you have? What are your talents and gifts? What are your strengths, what are your weakness?

Once you´ve gotten an “A” on your “Who Am I?” exam, work on being confident. What you think of yourself will determine your drive. If you look in the mirror and you don´t like what you see, fix it. And I´m not just talking about your physical appearance, but your emotional and psychological appearance as well. Throw away the old rags and create a new you. The You you like; because if you can´t like yourself, you will never be confident and you will always ALWAYS limit yourself.

So, there you go! Conquer the world! Be the WINNER you already are!
