She hastily ran into her bathroom. Shutting the door behind her.

Her tears came in hot streams down her cheeks, leaving thick black streaks in their wake.

“What’s wrong with you?!” she yelled at her reflection

She stared hard in the mirror, until slowly, right before her eyes, her reflection sneered at her.

“Everything.” her reflection spoke back to her in a menacing tone

Her eyes widened and a hand flew to her mouth. She was going insane. There was no way her reflection could have done that.

“Oh don’t look so surprised.” her reflection said, “We’ve known each other for so long.”

She was shaking. This was going too far. She was about to turn and leave when she saw something glinting in her reflection’s hand.

“Yes.” her reflection cackled

“NO!” she shook her head and screamed and cried

Then it snapped. Yes. This is what was supposed to happen.

She felt the cool thin metal in the palm of her hand. A sneer made its way onto her face, matching her reflection.

“What’s wrong?” her reflection asked

A swift motion of her hand over her wrist answered that question.

She slid the thin metal over her wrist again and again.

Red puddles formed on the white sink.

She looked to her reflection once again.

“Finally.” it said, turning its back and walking away

She was left in shock. Where her reflection should have been, was an empty space.

“No.” she whispered, looking down at the splatters of blood around her

“No.” she whispered as she collapsed onto the cold floor

“No.” she whispered as she took her last breath.

They had won again.
