I’d like to issue my thanks to both Connor of MMOFallout and The Mute Cynic of the Early Access Watcher Steam curator group for assisting me in compiling information for this post. Check these guys out, they’re doing amazing stuff!

I wanted to finally do a post talking about some theories that have been made up both within our circles and some external circles about some select few Steam titles. Avid Steam browsers for some time have been noticing some titles coming up with peculiar price tags on them, typically set around $200. …

It’s rare to typically see a website come around with a relatively ambitious goal, but this was the case when YouTuber The Quartering (real name Jeremy Hambley) announced his new gaming news website Exclusively Games. The idea behind the site was it would be a website financed through crowdfunding and promoted its self on ditching any and all politics from people’s gaming news, as a result purging any potential bias in ways of which how some stories could be presented in order to deliver a narrative rather than report on a story.

There existed starting in December 2018 both a…

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise was the highly anticipated sequel to the 2010 survival horror game Deadly Premonition. After 10 years of wait, fans finally got this long-awaited sequel in the form of a Nintendo Switch exclusive and to say it wasn’t received well is arguably an understatement. The game has been heavily slammed by critics, users and fans of the original game alike, with most of the critical points being brought towards the game’s technical performance. Now, I’m a fan of the original Deadly Premonition regardless of the perceived flaws that it has. …

It seems that Konami’s latest attempt at tapping into the mobile gaming market didn’t pay off as much as it had hoped. Konami’s latest entry in their Castlevania series Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls will be shutting down in September 2020. The game received a limited release, being a mobile-exclusive and also being region-locked to Canada only. There was anticipation on a much broader Western release, however with the recent news that came out yesterday, it seems this wider release won’t be happening.

Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, starting yesterday on July 9th displayed a message on startup to player stating that…

Hunt Down the Freeman, alongside its development and publishing company Royal Rudius Entertainment, has been met with allegations of stealing assets from other source engine games and community creations for use in Hunt Down the Freeman. The allegations have been ensuing for some time, but the main question that we will be aiming to answer in this article is how far these allegations go and how truthful they are.

To apply some backstory to the game, it originally started off as a demo project developed by 3 people, which later went on to become a much grander project with the…

I wanted to make a post showcasing my appreciation for voice actors within the video game sphere. I decided this was needed after the disgusting display that I saw in terms of some awful messages and tweets that got sent to Laura Bailey who is a voice actress I look up to highly. She received these because of the character she played in the recently released The Last of Us Part II and because of how emotionally fuelled a lot of people are about the game, they have taken to going ahead to harass not just Laura Bailey but also…

It has been reported from a Take-Two news release that the latest entry in their annual NBA series NBA 2K21 will receive a price hike from the regular $60 cost to a $70 price tag when they launch on the upcoming PS5 and the Xbox Series X. In the news post with the headline that tries to pass the major news off of how the new cover athletes for this new game are Damian Lillard, Zion Williamson and Kobe Bryant, there are lines in the news post that make mention of this price hike:

This year, NBA 2K21 will offer…

Pictured: Former Sony Chairman Shawn Layden

Former Sony Chairman Shawn Layden has kickstarted an online debate after a recent interview he did with publication Venture Beat.

In the interview, Layden expressed his views on how he thought with the modern-day AAA game development scene had a game model of creating lengthy games and then charging $60 for it, which Layden described as unsustainable.

Just to highlight a few quotes that Layden had given in his interview with VentureBeat that did get some people talking:

Personally, as an older gamer now, I would welcome the return of the 12–15 hour game. I would finish more games, first…

I wanted to throw a curveball and do a slightly different kind of article today. I ask that you don’t take this article at face value, I think even if you’re surprised by the title you’ll find we agree in a lot of ways with regards to the reputation that this “games journalism” website has accrued over the years its been running and also as of late thanks to a laughable “traitors to America” list that was posted and mocked relentlessly by the internet.

I'll start off by offering some backstory. One Angry Gamer is a site predominately run by…

It was reported in 2019 that Activision CEO Bobby Kotick got paid $30.1 million. And that was presented as a bad thing as it was less than what he got paid in the previous year, as in 2018 he got paid $30.8 million instead, a loss of $700 thousand. And it was reported it was a bad year for the company despite them still raking in $6.5 billion in that financial year. It was only presented as a bad thing because a company raking in billions of dollars a year was making less money and a man that’s making tens…
