Excellent post.

I think the hypocrisy and sanctimonious nature of the newspapers is a significant reason why people don’t pay as much attention to them. When I look at the Washington Post, the stories are generally uniformly anti-Trump (and often hysterically so). I rarely pay much attention to the stories anymore, simply because I don’t believe much of what they say.

In the movie The Karate Kid, the wise elder tells the young student that he should either be good at karate or don’t try it at all. If you get into a fight and can’t fight well, you’ll be beaten to a pulp. Therefore, either practice until you know what you’re doing or don’t fight.

The press is used to calling politicians terrible names, but are terribly sensitive about being called names themselves. They should either toughen up or stop being so rude themselves.
