Saving Is Now “Hoarding”

I thought the USA Today article was a bit confused. The writer said that savings is hoarding, but also wrote that the average household debt level increased in the same time period. Maybe the people who aren’t taking on more debt are saving more (or people are taking on more debt because they don’t have enough savings).

In either case, I’m not going to stop savings because someone who writes for USA Today thinks I’m a hoarder. (Maybe the writer is broke and thinks that everyone should be too.) Provided that I’m saving money instead of old newspapers or empty yogurt containers, I really don’t care what USA Today thinks…
