In other words, if we strip the budget of almost all non-medical government programs, then we can afford to fund unlimited medical care for all US residents. We both know that’s not going to happen.
As far as “a few billion” for federal single-payer health coverage, I’m very curious as to where you obtained this estimate (or whether you just made it up out of thin air). The cost for just California was estimated to be $400b.
