People can choose to break the law if they’re prepared to accept the consequences of doing so. Sure, in this instance, someone can move into the US without meeting the requirements for doing so. However, a consequence is that they’re liable for deportation.

I have little patience for people who complain about the consequences of their actions, as though they’re somehow immune from the laws which apply to everyone else.
