There are a couple of items which we don’t know:
- How accurate is the accountant’s data? It’s a serious ethical breach for the accountant to provide this information. The purpose of doing so may not be entirely altruistic.
- How long has this principal architect been at the firm? Salaries tend to level out after a few years. From a higher salary perspective, maybe it’s time to move.
- How marketable is this architect (e.g., age, experience)? If she can get another job relatively easily, why not plan to move to get a better opportunity?
