Age of Sigmar – Silver Tower. First impressions
So, now I finally have the Silver Tower box too. I’ve been waiting for it for quite a while. Brand new box game set from the GW is simply fantastic. It contains so much content I think they’ve never used before, and it’s all up to the highest quality level. The box itself is a masterpiece, being quite beautiful, convenient and not that heavy (although partially it is). The cover art is, as usual by GW, the best they can produce. It features most of the miniatures, being centered, of course, on the Stormcast, and does all the job. Simply perfect.
Then comes the content. 51 miniatures in general, the greatest part of the game. These are: 6 heroes-explorers of the Tower (a knight-questor of the Stormcast Eternals, a doomseeker of the Fyreslayers, a Darkoath chieftain – some chaotic barbarian treading the Path to Glory, a warpriest excelsior of Sigmar with his loyal gryph-hound and two brand new elves – Tenebrael Shard, graceful assassin just like the old good Shadowblade, and a mysterious sorceress, Mistweaver Saih) and 45 different denizens of the tower – Gaunt Summoner (the master of this place), an ogroid thaumaturge (his second-in-command), 2 skaven deathrunners (stealthy assassins of the infamous Warhammer ratmen), 2 pink horrors, 4 blue ones and 8 brand new brimstone horrors (good old lesser demons of the Architect of Fates), 6 tzaangors (very old beastmen of Tzeentch finally return, and they are perfect!), 8 grot scuttlings (forest goblins, which were forced to leave their tribes because of the spider-like mutations), 8 kairic acolytes (some really cool mortal worshippers of the Changer of the Ways) and 8 chaos familiars, which don’t fight you, but can be quite a problem.
Apart from this you also find two 40-pages books, one for the rules and the second for your adventures, 76 different cards, 13 double-sided game tiles, making up your labyrinth as you explore the tower, and 6 cards for your heroes with all their characteristics and stuff.
So, for quite a price (113 euro in my case) you get lots of contents of very high quality, especially regarding the miniatures, quite an interesting and potentially unending game in terms of replayability and very likely some insights into future elvish and Tzeentch releases. So stay tuned!
