I Was Going To Fall, But Andela Made Me Fall Forward...
Until you stop wearing other people’s shoes, until you stop letting them fit you into their tight and oversized clothes, you can never feel comfortable and be yourself. Running your life is not a big deal all you have to do is wear your own exact boots, stand on the track yourself fully prepared, till you hear the word “GO" from your own mind.

Growing up I saw my elder sisters do very little work with their laptops, it pissed me off that the only thing they could do was browse, watch movies and type projects, while my elder brother was busy making useful use of his laptop and creativity yet I so much hated the stigma that was attached to begin a lady, so I wondered why ladies didn’t do much in tech, why men always over shadowed them? At this point in my life I told myself that if I get a laptop I will so configure it, break it and fix it back. I was going to make it talk to me and also hear when I talked back, but as time passed by, there seemed to be no future for my passion and mischief. I refused to lean on the statement that “Some things are not ladylike and therefore are not meant for ladies" I started breaking gender rules in my life, I decided not to be stopped so I started reaching out to people, I made sure I convinced everyone who wanted to give me an alternative opinion, I let them know I could do more than imagined. So I started purging the internet for solutions, YES! I found solutions but I needed more. I wanted my creativity to show in everything I put my hands into, I needed to talk to people who where tech crazy, people who wouldn’t see me as strange or a young lady with dreams bigger than her senses, I needed to get in touch with people whose insanity is on the same level as mine. My curiosity was pushing me beyond my imagination but yet there was no turning back I just needed to push a little further, I was at the verge of falling down when I fell into Andela.

The AndelaALC 2017 meet-ups was my first ever tech meet-ups and they where worth the risk of travelling 4hours all the way from school back home every 2weeks just to be in the meet-up . Talking tech & Android, watching others create wonderful apps and wanting to do more than them was so pleasing to the soul. Sincerely speaking the Udacity Android Course has been the best ever online tutorial course I have taken on programming. Funny enough after that day my name changed to Python and I turned from a lady to dude, gender equality was one thing I loved about programmers and I so wished those days never ended.

AndelaALC gave me a reason to want to do more, not to quit and keeping fighting. They taught me risk taking and they gave me a chance to put my thoughts into realities, and trust me until you leave your comfort zone you wouldn’t stop sleeping, so wake up, move forward, let passion drive you, let purpose direct you and GOD will walk you through it. Don’t let gender or anything be a barrier to your goals. “You’re a woman and you are stronger than your imaginations therefore whenever you feel like falling fall forward"... Thank you Andela , Thank you Google Developers , Thank you Udacity for letting me fall forward...
