Get ready for the highly anticipated ‘Merkle APTitude Trading Contest’, starting at 12:00 UTC on June 4th and running for a week!

This thrilling event features three distinct tracks with a substantial reward pool of 10,000 APT (over $90,000). These tracks are meticulously designed to accommodate every type of trader, from high-volume experts to daring high-leverage degens.

The Degen Climb Track highlights our passion for inclusion. It will reward the top 250 traders on a scoring system based on PnL% with a minimum collateral of just 20 USDC, ensuring everyone has a chance to win.

The contest starts at June 4th 12:00 UTC and ends at June 11th 12:00 UTC. Mark your calendars and prepare for this epic trading showdown!

General Contest Rules

A simple X (Twitter) account verification is required to participate
Users can opt in or out of contest participation via the contest page’s user interface
Only positions opened while users are opted into the contest will qualify for scoring, including those that remain open at the end of the period
Minimum collateral required for eligible trades will be 20 USDC (before fees) at the time of opening.
PnL will be calculated after deducting the trading fees
Fraudulent activities, including sybil attempts, will be actively monitored, and appropriate measures will be taken when detected

Competition Tracks & Prizes

Degen Climb Track

The ranking will be based on a unique Degen Scoring system where users earn point multiples for positive PnL, while getting slashed significantly for negative PnL.

Users start with 10 points
For positive PnL, the score becomes score * (1 + PnL%)
For negative PnL, the score becomes 10 + (score — 10) / 2
Updated positions (e.g. adding collateral, partial closing) will be exempt from positive PnL calculation but will still be subject to slashing if the PnL is negative

The total prize pool of 4,700 APT will be distributed to the top 250 contestants.

1st highest Degen Score: 500 APT
2nd highest Degen Score: 300 APT
3rd highest Degen Score: 200 APT
4th highest Degen Score: 100 APT
5th highest Degen Score: 50 APT
6th to 20th highest Degen Score: 30 APT each
21th to 50th highest Degen Score: 20 APT each
51th to 150th highest Degen Score: 15 APT each
151th to 250th highest Degen Score: 10 APT each

Top Gainer Track

The ranking will be determined by calculating the notional PnL generated during the period of the competition. The total prize pool of 4,300 APT will be distributed to the top 20 contestants.

1st highest notional PnL: 1,500 APT
2nd highest notional PnL: 1,000 APT
3rd highest notional PnL: 600 APT
4th highest notional PnL: 300 APT
5th highest notional PnL: 150 APT
6th to 20th highest notional PnL: 50 APT each

Top Rekt Track

The ranking will be determined by calculating the notional loss (negative PnL) generated during the period of the competition. The total prize pool of 1,000 APT will be distributed to the top 3 contestants.

1st largest notional loss (negative PnL): 500 APT
2nd largest notional loss (negative PnL): 300 APT
3rd largest notional loss (negative PnL): 200 APT
