Metapioneers: MIP-1 Genesis Proposal Official Announcement
Background of MIP-1
MIP stands for “MetaPioneers Request for Improvement”.
The MPI token has experienced a recent price surge of over 200%, which is expected to continue due to the upcoming shift in the economic model towards a deflationary structure. Although we are pleased with this development, we also recognize that it will render the cost of activating NFTs through MPI uncontrollable for users. To establish a stable and sustainable ecosystem for MPI, the MetaPioneers community has initiated plans to launch its inaugural DAO governance, known as MIP-1 (genesis proposal vote), with voting rights extended to holders of veMPI tokens.
To incentivize participation in the vote, we have devised a plan to provide participating users with a mysterious AIRDROP reward. This reward will be implemented in our “Quest System” at a later date.
The schedule for the MIP-1 genesis proposal is as follows:

MIP-1 Genesis Proposal Details:
Proposal Title: Adjust NFT Activation Strategy to Allow Users to Activate NFTs Using USDT Token Only.
Proposal Content: With recent updates to the mining output mechanism, we have recognized that the price increase or volatility of the MPI token may present a significant obstacle for users looking to activate their prospector NFTs. We propose to adjust the activation strategy to make the cost of NFT activation predictable for users.
Specifically, we propose to replace the current strategy of using MPI to pay for NFT activation fees with a new approach in which users will pay for NFT activation fees using USDT, allowing them to enter the MetaPioneers ecosystem at a lower entry barrier. This method will reduce the entry barriers for new users and enable our project to better serve a wider range of users. These USDT will still be utilized for token buybacks and token burning purposes.
To better understand the community’s stance on this proposal, we will be conducting a vote through DAO governance. The voting period will last for 3 days, and every veMPI holder is eligible to participate. Based on the outcome of the vote, we will decide whether to proceed with the adjustment of the activation method.
💡Voting rules are as follows:
- Voting time: May 5th-6th, 2023.
- Voting options: Agree, Disagree, Abstain.
- The voting results will be made public and counted after the voting period ends.
- If the vote results in most users agreeing, we will implement the strategy change within 3 days.
Tips:
Cast your vote according to the amount of veMPI in your possession from the moment this voting link is released. For example, 37.55 veMPI = 37.55 votes.
There is no Gas fee for this voting process, but it is necessary to sign in to your wallet and access your available number of votes to complete the voting operation
- If the vote results in a majority of users disagreeing, then we will keep the original MPI entry strategy intact.
We believe that this proposal will help create a more predictable and accessible entry for new users while promoting a sustainable and stable ecosystem for MPI.
