It’s been a busy three weeks at Metakey HQ-
If you haven’t visited yet (shame 🔔) jump into Decentraland right NOW to explore!
From initial concept sketches and, renderings to modelling, texturing and programming our headquarters took approximately 5–6 weeks of hard work from our art and dev teams; I think it is VERY safe to say that it paid off!
We have incorporated a variety of features for our Keyholders to explore within the build, including:
The front entrance, displaying each of the Keys — these are interactive panels directing to their respective OpenSea listings; when any non-holders are understandably blow away by this gallery they can jump right aboard.
Two museum galleries; one commemorating our past achievements- the other illuminating our bright future.
In case you had forgotten, the entire Metakrew collection is being modelled in 3D for multiple game integrations; here you can catch a preview, “hand” crafted from only the finest marble textures (that DCL can support).
Up the lifts you can find our streaming/public events hall (the screen in the middle will usually show the Metakrew trailer or other promotional materials).
This has already proved a great hang out spot for events, but we have received feedback that it may need to be EVEN BIGGER to accommodate all the people that want to come and visit (we may have… broken Decentraland at our launch party, just a little).
Our team has taken this feed-back on board and are brainstorming ways to facilitate larger crowds, (maybe even a specially built auditorium) for more people to enjoy these premiere events!
There have been some controversial opinions about the rights of our two cleaning drones (that can be spotted on the first and second level). Rest assured, they are treated well and are compensated fairly for their tireless efforts — in fact dust fuels them!
They also don’t mind if you jump on their heads to go for a little ride! They love to feel included. Just make sure you thank them and give them a little pat afterwards.
We do have some exclusive areas that can only be accessed by our Key-holders — the first being the conference room.
Featuring a table large enough to accommodate our growing holders AND two extra streaming screens. We are hoping to use this space for future, Key-holder exclusive events and announcements.
The primary VIP areas for Key-holders can be accessed via the teleporter on the first floor. This will transport you up to The Metakey (our very own ship!) AKA the party zone.
There are two separate areas up here for our Key-holders to kick back in:
We have a chill out area, with some BBQs and chairs — you can still hear the music but it is at a respectful volume so you can easily chat with your Krewmates. We also have a basketball ring for those that want to shoot some hoops — it is currently closed for maintenance but check back in soon as we are planning on a fun mini-game for our Keyholders 👀
The deck also has a hoverboard so you can circle around and survey our kingdom (or maybe even take that special someone with you — there is room for two!)
Head up the stairs of the ship to the dancefloor — at the moment we are playing DJ Michaels specially curated bangers but we are hoping to have some more live music events up here in the future for our Keyholders.
Aside from the POAPs being rugged (don’t worry they are still coming!!) our launch party was a massive success! We had SO many holders (and curious first timers) log on to watch the Captains Log #9 premiere together —
As you can see from the above a bigger screen is definitely required and on the agenda!
We were also so thrilled to see so many Key-holders repping the wearable that we dropped specially for the event — the Metakey CyberTee
We have another limited wearable in our holster (to go along with those missing POAPS) so stay tuned on our socials for that announcement!
Last but certainly not least we ran a Metakey HQ photo contest over the weekend of our launch. We received nearly 100 entries — shortlisting these down to 5 for our DAO proposal was hotly debated in the Metakey office.
In the end our Holders voted and there was one clear winner-
@cryptoAngelx went home with Metakrew #1402 and of course immediately updated their profile picture❤️! Welcome, sailor- to the voyage of the Metakey!!
