Our second ever Shark Tank is done! We had such a great time hearing the proposals and chatting with the community. We are already looking forward to the next one.
For anyone who wasn’t able to make it (or just wants to relive the great moments) here is a sum up of what we did and what we talked about; alternatively you can watch the full session here.
The premise for Shark Tank is simple: we hear 3 pitches from the Metakey community, followed by discussion, feedback and Q&A from the community and 4 expert panelists. The panelists then decide which one to award $500USD (in ETH) to help kickstart their project — another $500USD is subsequently voted on by the DAO.
The panelists for this Shark Tank were PeanutButta; KevinOnEarth; Steph Sutto and Matty.
Pitch one was presented by Jack from Tentango.
Their mission is to inspire the next generation of creators to build even greater things.
There is approximately $500M worth of virtual land in the metaverse. Landowners are looking for creators to develop that land. Tentango helps those landowners develop their land based on their requirements.
Will use the funds to onboard 2 new builders to help them with upcoming projects. They will also use it to onboard a new medium writer to help generate at least 4 new leads a month.
Next up we had Alex from UNQ Club.
UNQ Club is a social platform for NFT asset management.
Buyers and collectors are extremely underserved. There are no tools for the people who actually spend the money. NFT’s are also spread across multiple chains and marketplaces.
UNQ Club are building a solution for this — which will enable people to buy and sell NFTs across different blockchains.
They plan to use the funds to help with Digital Marketing and social rewards.
Last but not least we had Scott from Pepe Gawds “Metaverse Quests”.
Pepe Gawds believes that we need more things to do in the Metaverse.
They aim to create third party Metaverse Quest givers with interoperable, cross-metaverse quests that offer rewards.
They hope to use the funds to implement the first free Pepe Gawds Metaverse Quest for the Metakey community.
And the winner for the panelists’ choice was…
The panelists agreed to contribute $500USD to Pepe Gawds by unanimous vote! They also mentioned that they really loved the community aspect of it, particularly with the cross metaverse plans, and that they would benefit more from the funds going forward.
