Some scavenger crews have dug these weird boxes out from the debris of the siege, far outside the dome. They seem to be made to hold experimental ordnance and equipment. Highly secure.
Problem is, they’re somehow entangled… like a bunch of boxes all occupying the same space at the same time, proper highfalutin sci-fi stuff. Flux capacitors or something, probably.
Some poor gob tried to open one, and it wasn’t pretty… so the Medeans are calling them “Danger Boxes” now. People here really make up for in preciseness what they lack in imagination.
Lucky for us, the Augurers have found a way to disentangle them… for a price. When they do, most of the boxes look kind of Medean, but some appear Umbrielic, and just a handful are clearly Vanguard design. We’re positive now that they all contain some serious loot.
We’ve still got a few of them in the cache. We can disentangle them for you now; after that you’ll have to come here yourself to open them. You’ll probably be fine.
The Augurers are certain that even if we find more stuff like this in future, there’s no way they’ll have the same rare equipment as these first Danger Boxes… so when they’re gone, they’re gone.
The Season 0 Danger Box is live now! With a total supply of 60,000, these repositories of rare cosmetic items can be claimed in a pre-revealed (or “entangled”) state, to be revealed immediately on purchase as Medean, Umbrielic or Vanguard Boxes:
After purchase, Danger Boxes can be traded on Token Trove and the IMX marketplace.
During the New Ganymede demo, your boxes can be opened in-game for exclusive cosmetic items*, spanning these 3 tiers of rarity. Obtainable items include outfit skins (body and head), melee weapons, guns and gliders.
But don’t throw away your empty Boxes! 5 previously opened Danger Boxes can be salvaged and reforged into a single, unrevealed Box during the demo season. Note that each empty Box can be reused in this way only once, and reforged Boxes cannot be salvaged a second time.
